Bricks for Friends Walkway

In Tyler:
The pathway which extends from the hospice chapel entrance is made up of more than 2000 bricks and granite blocks. Etched into many of these are lasting memories, joyful tributes and fond farewells given in remembrance of loved ones, in celebration of children and in honor of dear friends. Dedication ceremonies held twice each year, celebrate the placement of new tributes on The Walk of Friends, a poignant and enduring remembrance of those who have touched our lives.

In Nacogdoches:

The Nacogdoches County Master Gardeners’ demonstration garden is located in a park-like setting owned by the City of Nacogdoches off Main Street, just west of University Drive. The Master Gardeners have spent many hours planning for the beautification of the site, and securing and planting plants, shrubs and trees.  They have transformed the once-barren space into the beginning of a beautiful garden which has the possibility of becoming a true community gathering space. Located in the center of the garden, The Hospice of East Texas Walk of Friends is an eight foot wide circular pathway of bricks.  The walk surrounds a smooth area paved with crushed granite which will be used for a pavilion site for gatherings.
